I have created an image in Inkscape and used layers because I need them in LightBurn. The image in Inkscape measures 95.174 x 139.512 mm. However, when I import the SVG into LightBurn, I find that it measures 95.114 x 139.678 mm. In other words, it has grown, but what concerns me more is that it hasn’t grown proportionally; the image has become distorted.
In the ‘SVG Import Settings’ in LightBurn, I have the option set to 96 DPI (Inkscape default).
Could someone guide me on how to avoid this issue?
“First of all, thank you very much for the suggestion. I had the first option checked (it’s the one Inkscape marks by default), so I checked the one you indicated and the problem was resolved.
Could you tell me where you found this information?
Thanks again.”
I found the answer a few years ago on the Internet. I don’t understand why Inkscape defaults to “Visual bounding box”. I have Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, Silhouette Studio, and Affinity Designer. They all default to “Geometric bounding box”, or what is commonly known as the center of the stroke. Lightburn doesn’t use stroke width - dimensions are from center of line to center of line.
