Lens Calibration Fail - Omtech Polar

I’m not really sure what I’m missing here. I’ve tried cutting the paper down to multiple different sizes, using tape or glue to get a flat image, and with/without the honeycomb bed. The outcome is always the same.

Arch Linux - Lightburn Version 1.3.01

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try running lens calibration with the cover open and holding the pattern. Not sure but it’s possible that the pattern is slightly too big. So try holding a little farther away or reprinting smaller.

My wife and I gave it a shot. No dice. I tried multiple distances with some bordering on the absurd - no change.

You’re saying you get the same “Noise image” message every time? Can you confirm that you picked fisheye lens for your lens type?

Yup - that is correct. I keep getting the noisy image message.

The only luck I have had is by unchecking the honeycomb check, but I figure there is a reason that is defaulted to enabled.

It’s actually not essential as long honeycomb is not in play. What happens if you disable it?

Try covering your whole work area with white card stock/paper, I have found this to eliminate Noise Image message in MOST cases.

After I disabled the check, I was able to get through the wizard with pretty good scores. I still have to get through camera alignment, but I think I’m good. Thanks for the help.
