I successfully used LightBurn with my xTool D1 Pro 20W laser, importing the library: “xTool-D1ProV3.lbdev” to engrave and cut wood panels. Today I need to engrave a text on an aluminum panel and to do so I would like to use the xTool 1064nm Laser module using LightBurn. Is there an xTool library for LightBurn also for the xTool 1064nm Laser module? Or can I use the same xTool-D1ProV3.lbdev library by modifying only the parameters?
Thank you all for your help. Thanks Silvio
Hi Silvio,
The xTool-D1ProV3.lbdev file is a device profile, containing a saved copy of all the information you would typically see if you went to Edit > Device Settings.
I would not expect the device settings to change much when you change only the laser module, however here are some examples of things that could potentially require modifications - I’m not sure if any of these will apply in your case:
-Is module physically larger? You may have to reduce the available working size.
-Is the module a different weight? You may need to recalibrate scanning offsets.
-Is the red dot pointer offset still the same?
If any of the device settings need changing, it is best to create a new device profile. Go to your ‘Devices’ list, right-click and duplicate your existing ‘xTool D1 Pro’ device, rename it to something like ‘xTool D1 Pro(IR)’ and customise the settings appropriately.
Your engraving settings will definitely change, once you have found settings that you like for different materials it may make sense for you to save those settings in a separate Material Library for the IR module.
