License Question for Upgrade to Lightburn Pro

I currently have Lightburn version 1.4 for diode laser. If i upgrade to Lightburn Pro to be able to use a fiber laser can i keep my same version. Second question. If i upgrade to pro then add a second device for a fiber laser will everything look the same when i select my diode laser.

The addition of features to your License Key is independent of the update period on the license. You’d still be able to use 1.4 as you have.

Any windows you move within LightBurn will maintain their position across device profiles, so any layout changes you make with your fiber laser connected will show when you switch back to your diode laser. Most users don’t change their layouts, even when using different laser types, as your workspace setup will probably work for any laser you connect.

Note that you’ll need at least version 1.7, if your galvo uses a BSL controller.

I have 3 diode lasers with different work areas. when I select one or the other in the Laser window, the workspace grid will adjust for the particular laser selected. There is a big difference between the iCube and the SF-A9 machines. But what I have IN the work area remains the same.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Still need to ponder a bit if i want to bit the bullet and invest in a fibre laser. Seems that fibre lasers are a lot more complicated to use than my diode. I wouldn’t need anything to large as i have a space problem. 100mm or 150mm at the max.

This has to be the understatement of the year.
