My library has a DSP machine. They have a computer with a DSP license permanently connected, but you can’t use it outside the library. If I want to have my own copy of Lightburn so I can precreate my designs and then move them via USB to that computer, do I need a DSP license, or can I use a G-CODE license during the design process?
Technically you can use a GCode license, however you wouldn’t have access to a few of the settings used in the DSP version, so you’d need to set those up after loading the file on the library version of the software.
For straight design and preview, the gcode version would be fine. It would really only be the specific cut settings, like Power Min and one or two others that you wouldn’t be able to access on the GCode version.
