So i tried to engrave with 250 speed and 100% power in TTS 10W Pro in stainless steel. I put a black spray or black marker for the laser not to reflect black . after engraving i got this result. the laser works but it doesnt engrave. already
This doesn’t look like stainless steel, that should be silver colored. But I don’t know if there are different coatings available. Anyhow, 10W is the lower limit to handle steel usually, maybe use 100 mm/min and multiple passes / crosshatch-filling. You can try coating it with laser marking powder, that might work better. Anyhow, it only works on stainless steel and to me it doesn’t look like some.
That looks like the brass alloy coins we tried a couple of weeks ago. Did not even mark them with a 40w diode laser. Also tried CerMark with no luck.
WARNING: Do not etch them flat. Put something under one edge (I used a small piece of masking tape) so they have a slight tilt. Otherwise, you can reflect the beam back up into the laser. Good way to crack a lens, or worse.
