Light burn failed to communicate with comgo Z1 laser

I’ve been using lightburn for a good time now but suddenly yesterday, my pc failed to respond with my comgo z1 laser engraver.
It says ready but the console is saying waiting for connection.
I’ve tried to change to different ports but nothing still works out. Where’s the problem?

Do you find the laser in Windows device manager?

What happens if you click on the ‘Stop’ button?

Yes it’s there

There’s literally no connection with the laser, when I click stop still nothing happens. I’ve bought a new connection cable but still There’s no difference

Try this. Unplug your laser from USB and power. Restart your computer. Turn the power back on to your laser. Open Device Manager Ports so you can see what is there. Take a pic if necessary, then plug in the laser USB cable and see what port appears, you should also hear the “connected” sound. Use that port number in Lightburn. If nothing new appears you very likely have a bad USB cable or your controller may have failed.

You can also try to right-click the devices button, then the connection is reset.
Another thing you can test is to change the “enable DTR signal” setting in device settings. No matter if it was on or off before.

Looking at your device manager pic, it’s strange that so many other COM ports are showing.

What else do you have plugged in?

It may help if you right-click and “uninstall” all of those other COM devices if you do not know what they are.

There is also an “Other device?” - what is showing there when you expand that? You might still be missing a driver for something.

It might help to uninstall COM6 also.

Then restart Windows and plug the laser in and see what comes up in the Device Manager.
