LightBurn 1.4.00 help

Hello, I work for a County IT department, and we have a user that uses LightBurn version 1.4.00. The user’s device was upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 Pro recently. With the device upgrade we had to back up the users local account on the old device and restore it on new device. We have since to what I think correctly installed LightBurn on the new device. The user is now stating that the fan does not turn on while printing. Also is stating that the safety mechanism for the door on the laser printer can also now be opened at any time while the machine is running. I am personally not really familiar with either the LaserBurn application or laser printer and the contact with the user has been nonexistent the last few days.. That being said the Model of the printer is unknown, I just know of a EZCAD2 LMCV4 Series USB Laser & Galvo Controller. I have tried doing research on both issues and for the fan issue I have checked the Cut Settings Editor, but I do not see the Air Assist tab. I have also looked for the Machine Settings under the Edit drop down and I don’t see anything regarding Vendor Settings or Device Settings for the Enable door open protect tab. Anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to troubleshoot?

It is a relatively difficult case that you have to deal with as an IT supporter. When you know nothing about laser and LightBurn, your client can claim what he himself perceives as a “new problem coming from outside” that has not been there before.
For the same reason that the user’s OS should be updated, LightBurn should also be upgraded, LB ver. 1.4. is not up-to-date and many things has become corrected and added.
The security functions that your client mentions are machine-dependent and independent of LightBurn. The missing air control is a function that the user can/should be able to start in the software, but it also requires some basic knowledge of the laser and its software.
It will not be easy to solve that problem if your client is not cooperative and “abuses” the necessary OS update as an excuse for his lack of knowledge of the matter.
That is my purely personal view of the matter.
