Lightburn 1.7.03 Windows 11 pro mouse issues

Persistent issues with mouse behavior in 1.7.03 on windows 11 pro particularly when using the mouse wheel click function. Click displays ‘hand’ as expected. Release displays popup window with some Lightburn edit options. The movement hand is frequently ‘stuck’ and there is no certain procedure to return to select pointer. Additionally, Lightburn response to mouse actions is often slow/unsmooth and displays hourglass.

Running AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8 core at 3.7GHz with 32GB ram and 1 TB SSD.

Does anyone know why this might be occurring? Are there config issues in Lightburn or Windows 11 I’ve missed?

Many folks have been surprised to discover their trusty old mouse has worn out: a different mouse may solve the problem.

Bonus: If it’s a wireless mouse, now would be a great time for new batteries.

If a new rodent doesn’t make the problem Go Away™, report back and the hive mind will take another whack at it.

Brand new mouse. Brand new batteries. I turned off windows animation and have some improvement but the problem persist. Any other ideas.

Well, at least you got a new mouse out of it. :slightly_smiling_face:

At this point folks with more Win 11 experience may have software suggestions …

I’m using Windows 11 Home. I don’t have any problems. Not sure what the differences between home and pro are.

Brand new mouse. Brand new batteries.

No similar issues here so far on my Dell Intel Core i7 Win11 Pro system. For a bit more information I am using 3DConnexion CadMouse Pro Wireless which is using the 3DConnexion drivers.

Perhaps check whether there’s a driver update?

For whatever help it may be here is the Lightburn popup that occurs more or less randomly when using the mouse

I’ve found some indications that this may be a issue with the mouse and Bluetooth interference. FWIW I’m using a logitech M 705.

Yes, Bluetooth interference had crossed my mind. Microwave ovens and WiFi signals can interfere as they’re on similar frequencies.

No microwave nearby. I am running wifi.

There is some indication that Logitech mice have an issue in this area. I’ve ordered a new not-Logitech mouse to see what happens.

I’ve also tried placing the mouse Bluetooth receiver well away from the computer and laser. Didn’t seem to change anything.

I recently updated lightburn on this computer and noticed a new C++ library installed. Perhaps this impacts the UI/mouse.

I hope your new mouse fixes the issue for you. Don’t forget to let us know if it does or not.

New mouse makes it much much better but the behavior still occurs occasionally. However, it now clears much more reliably with another wheel press or ESC. Not really solved but now tolerable. I still wonder about a change in interface libraries.

Glad to hear it’s better with the new mouse. Perhaps the LB devs can shed some light.

I use a Dell core 7 windows 11 also. I use a corded and a cordless mouse. I have Bluetooth and WiFi all around me, 1 router and 2 repeaters, three Alexa’s, a wireless raspberry right next to my computer. All this and no problems with either type of mouse.
