Lightburn 1.7.04 won't connect with Xtool D1 Pro 20 watt laser

I have been using lightburn with my Xtool D1 Pro 20 watt laser for two years with no problems. all of a sudden, commands from Lightburn don’t seem to be getting to the laser. The laser turns on, but commands like “move”, :fire", “frame” etc don’t seem to be going to the laser.

I have been using the same comm port (5) for two years. I am using Lightburn 1.7.04 because it serves all my needs, and I am leery about newer versions to date. My computer is a recent ASUS laptop model.

I tried a new USB cable, reinstalling software, and updating laser firmware, … nothing seems to work. Please help!!!

Is console showing it connected?

To add to @Dskall 's question, can you copy and paste the Console window text just after you start up in your Reply?
