Everything worked fine in v1.7.08, but since upgrading to v2.0.02 -
If I make changes to the advanced machine settings and hit ‘write’ they are not written.
If I close the dialogue and open it again, everything is as default again.

Anyone who can help (probably not me) will need to know more details.
What laser machine are we talking about, operating system, communication mode, etc.
The more details, the more information available to help properly.

I just don’t understand why it all worked in v1.7.08 and now it doesn’t in v2.0.02?
And still works fine in v1.7.08 ( I have both versions installed so I can send the machine settings before I engrave.
I’ve just found this when I start v2.0.02 -
error:7
EEPROM read failed. Reset and restored to default values.
So v2.0.02 is failing to read my laser, but v1.7.08 does it without any issues?
Yours Roy
I have removed my laser from Lightburn, and then added it again by detection.
I get the same error on start up in both versions -
Waiting for connection…
error:7
EEPROM read failed. Reset and restored to default values.
In v1.7.08 when I write the Machine Setting I load, no error, and the settings are sent ok.
In v2.0.02 when I write the Machine Settings I get the the - error:7

This is worth writing an email to Support@LightburnSoftware.com and including a link to this thread.
Thanx @MikeyH, done

@MikeyH Lightburn support were fantastic, they solved the problem and came up with a solution

Microsoft could use lessons from them for sure!
FYI @MikeyH I believe the Machine Settings window in V2 issues a soft reset command after successfully writing changes to the GRBL controller.
However, this particular machine currently seems to have some kind of firmware problem and is unable to retain any modified GRBL $ settings after a reset.
The suggested workaround is to use a macro button to set any $ GRBL settings needed for the session since most settings should be able to be modified without being followed by a reset.
I’m not sure how to fix the error 7 - suggest following up with Atomstack - it may be fixed by a firmware update, or by adding or removing an SD card, or could be an issue with the SD card format, or might be related to the machines’s little screen - try unplugging it.
Thanx @NicholasL all working fine now
I have contacted Atomstack, awaiting a reply.
No SD Card used, direct USB link to PC.
