hello ladies and gents, I’m at a total loss here…I am building a custom laser, I just started programming the laser and I’m having an issue I just can’t seem to solve, I’ve tried flashing several different firmware’s nothing changes, I’ve tried every value in $3= nothing changes, I’ve even gone as far as purchasing a new multi meter and ohm tested the motor poles to make sure they are connected correctly, I even connected another stepper motor to make sure if I turn the shaft by hand the motor in the machine rotates the direction I need it too. HERE’S the problem Y axis in light burn up is up down is down , on the machine touch screen up is down and down is up, I can change settings and get the machine touch screen to work correctly , then it changes lightburn movement to reverse up is down and down is up no matter what I do the machine touch screen and light burn controls just will not match. So NEW thing I’ve discovered that if I go into light burn and enable CNC, I can now set lightburn and the machine touch screen to make the same movements on the Y axis i.e. up is up and down is down, I thought I solved my issue…NOPE now the X axis is now not working the same on both the problem just moved from the Y to the X axis…any ideas how to get both light burn, and the machine touch screen to move the Axis’s in the correct directions
This looks so much as my MKS DLC32 some time ago…
What controller board are you using?
Sorry I thought I included that lol it is the MKS dlc32 v 2.1 board
Probably you will need to find a firmware version that works with lightburn and MKS display.
I am currently using the firmware V2.10_H35_2022_0621_N_ZX_001 but only because I need to install a flame detection sensor and TS35 display.
Still the direction of the X axis was inverted in relation to lightburn when I use (on the TS35 display) the “Control” icon.
But if you use the icon “Sculpture” or “engrave” (I don’t remember exactly) the directions of the axes all coincide.
This should change something. do you “Write” (click on “write” button) this settings before exit?
I’ve had good results with an MKS DLC32 v2.0 board and TS-25 display running v2.08 laser firmware. Including extensive z-axis use. TS-25 display movement controls are working in sync with the Lightburn move controls.
Let me clear that up I did try all values 0-7 on $3= if it was correct I’m LB it was wrong on the touch screen in every setting
While I appreciate the input I have a MKS dlc 32 v2.1 board the newer board with a 35 screen
The same firmware is used for the v2.0 and v2.1 boards. The H35 firmware and H24 firmware versions are not in sync, though… sometimes drifting a few versions apart in bug fixing, apparently.
My suggestion really was more that it seems it can be made to work, but you need to find a firmware version that works right.
I seem to recall having the exact same problems until I rolled back a number of firmware versions from what came preloaded on the device. I think it took me trying four versions before I found one that worked right.
I would suggest trying the 2.08 firmware as well as some versions before and after that version. You may hit on a winner. It only takes a few minutes to load and test each firmware.
It occurs to me that it is very likely that you currently have CNC firmware loaded rather than Laser firmware. I believe that they come stock with CNC firmware.
ive already tried a few but will be trying them all tonight
Daryl the controller currently has the laser version install and has always has the laser version installed, so far every config ive tried as well as firmware they all work the same i even went in and tried to setup different versions of grbl in lightburn with no luck.
