Lightburn and TopWisdom TL-A1 on my new 100W CO2 1000*800mm - vs Ruida?

Hello,
I got my KH1080 100W CO2 AutoLevel Laser with TL-A1 control unit delivered by today. It is my first time using lightburn.
I expected to get one with Ruida controller so I was a bit surprised. The laser should extend my cnc woodworking workshop. So ich checked the Lightburn website and the TL-A1 shows up as compatible with Lightburn DSP.

So my question now is: Are there any negatives using the TL-A1 controller instead of the ruida? Are there missing settings, performance etc or output so I run into problems later?

Regarding connection: It has USB and WLAN, if found older posts that Lightburn does not support the connection by wlan. so i will need to use usb with extension cable instead of ethernet or wlan connection?

The TL-A1 seems to have one output (output-1) which I would need to target a magnetic valve for air assist i assume

Iam currently not sure if there is another way to also control the cooling unit/water pump by startin the laser task?

I also bought a turning axis together with the laser. Did not test it yet.

Thanky for your help in advance!

This is from the manual for a TL-A1 controller.

I don’t know what OUT1 actually does… their explanation leaves a lot to be desired.

Wind/SPI is what likely goes active when air assist is enabled on the layer.

Congrats on a new machine… sorry they didn’t put a Ruida in it… I think Lightburn targeted the Ruida … I don’t know one way or the other if it’s compatible with Ethernet or not using Lightburn.

It might be some kind of encryption that must occur or something like that to make it incompatible… doesn’t take much. :grimacing:

Good luck - have fun
