Lightburn Automatically Moving Laser of Creality Falcon 2 Pro; need help!

Hi folks!

Since yesterday my Creality Falcon 2 Pro 40W is showing strange behaviour. Whenever I plug it into my Mac with the provided USB cable, the machine starts to automatically move. In Lightburn the following message is showing (repeatedly);

ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
ok
[MSG:Pgm End]

The laser automatically moves in the Y-axis until it reaches the end of the Y-axis space and turns on and off. After which this riddle is starting again, and repeating; time after time. The Lightburn software (& file) is completely blank and ‘in just opened’ state.

I’ve updated Lightburn to the newest version, reset the machine and re-installed in via Lightburn. Re-booted my Mac. Still happening.

From time to time an ALARM:3 message is shown.

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Twan

First, change the USB cable and make sure you have an adaptor to not use USB-C anywhere.
Your screenshot shows that you are not connected to the laser, you are connecting to a bluetooth port. Change this to USB.

Hi Melvin,

Thanks a bunch for the fast response! In the screenshot I’ve connected to usbmodem1234561 which corresponds to my machine  not sure why it ain’t call different but this has always seemed the port to select my laser.

I’m not using USB-C to connect it to my Mac, I’m using an active USB hub, which seems to have worked fine over the couple months.

I might have found the issue; it seems that my audio-interface does not output any sound when Lightburn is open. And vice-versa I’ve occured some other issues. It might be sound-driver related. But in my mind it does not make any sense. Any idea / clue?

What you are probably seeing is the effect “Auto-home on startup” in your Device Settings:

If possible, take the active USB hub out of line and connect the laser directly to your computer.

The audio interface is unlikely the culprit here but if it’s attached via USB, it’s worth plugging it out too for the meantime to rule it out as the source of issues.
