I ordered and received the 8MP 4K-N camera for my 20x28 Monport l60w aser. I used the camera selection tool in Lightburn to drive the selection.
I hope to install the camera tomorrow, but was curious about focusing the camera. Perusing the other LB cameras, it appears some of them have an external lens that is twisted to focus. The 4k-N camera does not appear to have that capability (mine does look like the photo on the order page) so I’m curious/concerned about focusing the camera once I install it. It is autofocus or otherwise how is it focused? It doesn’t appear to have any mechanism to mechanically focus.
On some models the lens is housed in small square metal case - it has notches around the side that you can use to gently twist the lens and manually focus it, if necessary. Tweezers or needle nose pliers can help with that.
You can use the Windows Camera App, or MacOS PhotoBooth to see a fullscreen image to adjust the focus.
(Actually, now that I said it, that’s a neat feature suggestion for LightBurn.) I’m logging it internally.
Sidenote: The reason that the camera is manual focus is because on Autofocus cameras, you have multiple lenses, which constantly shift and would throw off the Lens Calibration.
