Because we can see neither the overlay nor the path, anything we suggest will be pure guesswork.
The most likely cause is not keeping the camera in the same position after calibrating it. This is particularly true with open-frame diode lasers, because the camera is not mounted rigidly to the frame.
Photos and screenshots will help us see what you see; pay particular attention to the camera mount relative to the laser. Uploading the lbrn2 file with all the settings will provide even more information.
