Hi, I had been using Lightburn together with my old macbook pro. And I just got a new macbook pro (M1chip), so i install lightburn to my new mac and trying to connect back to my laser. I tried to use “Find my laser” a few times still cannot. Im sure that my usb and the power of the laser machine is on. May I know if there any way to soft this issue? Thanks.
I know that my PC needs a Virtual Com Port driver to talk to my Ruida, but I’m not sure about Macs and Orturs. On my machine the necessary driver (FTDI) was installed automagically by the installer.
By what method did you install LB on the new machine?
Also, does the same USB port work with other USB devices, say a memory stick?
Thanks for the reply. I checked and the USB port is work for other device. My mac can detect it. And because its a new laptop so i re-install the lightburn from the official website with my purchase code to start it on my mac.
Some lasers require user-installed drivers to use on macOS between different versions of macOS, as the chips used inside the laser cutter’s controller aren’t always kept up to date or updated by their manufacturer. While I can’t say for certain, this does feel like that given what’s been shared so far.
Can you please confirm which Ortur laser you have, so we could better point you in the direction of the right drivers if that’s indeed the issue?
Best,
Kim
Directly from the Ortur Support site,
Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 and Drivers
Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 uses standard Serial com port driverless communication.
This means in most operating systems, Windows 10, MacOs, Linux, theres no need to install any drivers. However in some circunstances, specially on Operating systems already End of Life (EoL) the drivers are not installed via Windows Updates. This is particularly true on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Some versions of WIndows 8
The following is worth review,
