Nice.
You have multiple drivers loaded. One is likely to work and the other not because they are contending.
You may be able to find the extra driver:
ls /Library/Extensions/*usb*.kext
ls /System/Library/Extensions/*usb*.kext

Hi,
so without the laser connected, I get this:
Christians-MacBook-Pro:~ christianmono$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/usb.kext
Password:
Christians-MacBook-Pro:~ christianmono$ sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/usbserial.kext
Christians-MacBook-Pro:~ christianmono$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/usb.kext
With the laser connected, I get:
Christians-MacBook-Pro:~ christianmono$ /Library/Extensions/usb.kext
-bash: /Library/Extensions/usb.kext: No such file or directory
Christians-MacBook-Pro:~ christianmono$ /System/Library/Extensions/usb.kext
-bash: /System/Library/Extensions/usb.kext: No such file or directory
Actually, I’ve finally got it to work!! I tried once more to remove the old drivers then re-booted the computer while the laser was on and connected to new hub. I still got the message that “Homing cycle is not enabled in your Grbl settings” (not sure what that means). But when I tried framing an image, it worked. Still haven’t the faintest why it didn’t work before but at least I can complete my job.
Thank you so much for your patience berainlb. Couldn’t have done it without you.
That’s a fantastic outcome. Nicely done.
Do you have homing switches on your machine? I assume not since S9 didn’t come with them by default. If so, disable “Auto-home on startup” in Edit->Device Settings and that will avoid the message.
If you do have homing switches then you can enable homing with $22=1 in Console.
Ok, super! I’ll do that. ![]()
Again - Thanks!!
