Lightburn connection to X-Carve Pro GRBL

Hi. Just connected my Opt XT8 laser and runs fine through easel directly. Installed the newest version of Lightburn. Followed all the install setup steps provided by Opt to config lightburn settings. Grbl V1.1h is running on my x-carve controller. In lightburn, the laser box says its “ready” but can’t get the console to connect, just reads “waiting for connection”. Tried different com ports, re installed xcarve drivers, no luck. See below screen shot. Any advice?

Did you check the device manager, which COM port your machine gets assigned?

Yes, tried a bunch of different ports. COM3, COM4, COM5, COM10 etc. originally assigned COM 3. Restarted after each change. Thanks.

But which port was assigned to the machine? You don’t need to guess because the device manager shows it.

COM 10. I have since tried Universal G Code sender to see if it could connect and does without issue. Did change the baud rate to 57,600, but when changed in lightburn it does not…

Change the “enable DTR signal” option.

Tried that, no success. Think I am going to give up on Lightburn and use the plugin from Vectric. Thanks for your help.
