Lightburn coordinates don’t correspond with Ortur LMP2

Hi,
I just bought Lightburn and Ortur LMP 2.
I’ve been playing around and already did some small test projects.
Now I wanted to engrave a grid onto my board so it would be easier to position material to engrave. My workspace is 400x400mm and I thats correct in the lightburn settings. However, if i press move to position 200-200 in absolute coordinates it doesn’t position the laser in the middle. If i press get position it will tell me that it’s X244,5 and Y232.48 which is correct. Re pressing the move to 200 200 position will not move the laser. (To make sure the stepper motor settings are correct I printer a 50x50 box and the result is exactly 50x50) sorry for the newby question but I’ve been struggling for hours without a solution.

Thanks for helping me.

It’s possible you have a workspace offset configured.

Can you run a homing operation and then run these commands in Console window? Return results here.

?

Hi Berianlb,

Thanks for the quick response.
I performed home operation and then I copied each command to console and hit enter after each command. Unfortunately no difference.

Jeroen

Those weren’t fixes. That was to gather the information. Can you post the results of the commands here?

This indicates that you have a work offset configured.

The easiest resolution to this is to simply reset to your default configuration which is safe on Ortur lasers.

Issue this command in Console:

$RST=*

It’s not required but I suggest you power cycle after that. Retest your position as you did in the original post and see if your issue is resolved.

Additionally, there’s an updated firmware for your machine that I suggest you apply. Apparently it addresses some common issues with the older version.

Ortur – Firmware Repository – Ortur

I did the restore to default in the console, power cycled the printer and Lightburn software but unfortunately no fix yet.

I will now try to update the firmware…

This indicates that the offset is still in place which means somehow the reset did not take.

I suspect the firmware update may also reset defaults but if it does not, can you rerun this command in Console and report back:

$#

May require a manual fix.

Hi Berlainlb,

The Firmware update to 187 and after that the restoure to defaults did the trick.
Very happy user here.
Really apriciate your quick help!

Thanks,

Jeroen
