LightBurn “Cut outside of bounds” error even though framing is correct (Ortur Laser)

Hi,
I’m having an issue with LightBurn showing a “Cut outside of bounds” warning.

  • I’m using an Ortur laser (GRBL)

  • “Start From” is set to Current Position

  • Job origin is set to Center

  • “Ignore out-of-bounds moves” is enabled

  • Framing works perfectly and stays exactly around my object (no movement outside the work area)

Even though everything looks correct and the laser does not go out of bounds, LightBurn still shows the warning every time.

This started happening after reinstalling LightBurn on a new computer. Before that, I didn’t have this issue.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this a bug or am I missing some setting?

Thanks!

Hello Eva

Could you post a screenshot of your LightBurn, as well as the contents of the console output.

Include please the console output when typing these codes:

?
press enter
$#
Press enter

Sometimes the image will fit within the work area and it frames OK since that’s where the image will be.

However, the machine has to accelerate up to speed. This has to occur outside of the image so it’s up to speed. If this is a scan/fill operation the software/machine can detect this overscan as an out of bounds.

Don’t know your situation, so I thought I’d mention it.
