Just had to transfer from my Mac to a Windows computer. When using Lightburn, if I try to save a file, I get an error message, if I leave the program it allows me to save, however, it is giving me a strange file names. See Attached.
What are you saving those PC files to?
In addition to what MikeyH is asking, what is the error message you’re getting?
Looking at the files this is happening with, it looks like it’s only happening to duplicate file names. If you try to save as a different file name (using File > Save As), what happens?
The save as function works fine. I tried to recreate the issue tonight and I could not? It was not connected to my laser, I am not sure if that had any impact. I am using a backup laser to get some items made to meet a deadline. Afterword, I will go back to the new machine.
Sorry, I did not completely answer your question. The error message was displayed very quickly, it told me that it was unable to save to my OneDrive. While I am using a windows computer, I have not been saving to one-drive? So the message was not making sense to me. I have been and continue to save to my hard drive.
Maybe your account is still linked and it is doing it automatic?
To safely uninstall Microsoft OneDrive from Windows, first unlink your account from the system tray. Then, open Windows Settings, go to Apps > Installed apps, find Microsoft OneDrive, and select Uninstall. Your local files remain in your user folder unless you delete them manually.
They are temporary files you can safely delete if the ‘london philly 1’ project is present and correct.
My understanding is that when saving, LightBurn first creates a temporary copy of the original project file, and once the save is successful - the temp file is deleted.
It’s possible that if OneDrive started syncing (or even just reading) the temp file in the short moment after LightBurn finishing writing it and before it was deleted… the file would be locked by OneDrive, preventing its deletion.
Judging from the icons, none of the files are being uploaded to OneDrive, but the application will still no doubt be running and have its sticky paws in the folder, so uninstalling it as @MikeyH suggested is a good idea.
Thanks, I will unlink later today!,
Thanks, I will unlink later today! I have never seen this error before!
This is probably why not.
Perhaps! My Mac works on my other machine (Acmer) with no problems. My new WECREAT machine does not like my Mac…not enough RAM.
