Hi, I have been using Lightburn on my Sainsmart Genmitsu LC-40 for a few months with great success but recently its started to engrave all objects and all layers on the work surface whether selected or not? I think the issue started after updating with 1.4.01 but still persists with 1.4.05? I have deleted Lightburn and reinstalled (even with earlier software levels) but the problem persists? I have also seen that even though I have uninstalled lightburn when I install a new version my previous history still comes up in ‘recent project lists’ as well as remembering the previous laser names? Any help out there please?
If you really want to delete your settings, go into the preferences folder and delete the contents/folder. You can also delete your material library and your art library… But,
It’s not a good idea in my opinion, nor a real way to fix LightBurn.
The problem you’re having and describe is that everything gets engraved/cut out regardless of whether it’s marked or not, can you post some of that up here as an lbrn2 file?
Hi Bernd.dk, thank you for the quick response, I’ve now connected the laser to another PC and its the same issue which leads me to think its a laser sware issue rather than a lightburn issue. I will try and reflash the sware and try again.
You can just return if you need help
Hi Bernd.dk, I’ve reflashed the LC-40 firmware and the problem persists. I attach a sample lbrn2 file called sample squares. With both squares in the work area (and neither selected) the laser will frame the outline of both squares rather than saying ’ no objects are selected’ (- or words to that effect).
sample squares.lbrn2 (3.4 KB)
errr…no I must have turned it off
thank you it now works, I have looked virtually everywhere for a setting and it was right there in front me! Lesson learnt and thank you again…
… fine that it succeeds.
I prefer to stay away from firmware updates until absolutely necessary.
