- I am having issues with connectivity and Lighburn locking up. I’ve never had luck using an ethernet cable from my computer to my Thunder Laser so I’m using a USB cable. I’ve tried new cables, different ports, and power settings on the USB ports so far nothing has permanently solved the issue.
- The worst of the two issues is Lightburn locking up/not responding after running one job. I’ve tried rolling back Windows 11 updates, reinstalling, and installing older copies of Lightburn. I can’t seem to get a grasp on the issue. Is anyone else having problems with using Lightburn with Windows 11?
Thanks!
How long is the USB cable? There is a length limit.
Is the USB cable shielded? Most cheap ones are not.
Surprised Ethernet did not work, unless you just did not set it up right.
Many users are on Win11, doubt that is your problem.
Focus on solving a communications issue, not a software issue.
Yes, I am aware and it’s under the limit I also have a powered USB as recommended. That wouldn’t cause Lightburn to lockup after running one job, that’s the main issue that I can’t resolve.
Thanks
Lightburn may be waiting for the controller say it is done. That still puts it in the communications failure category.
Why are you using a powered USB? Are you using an extended cable? If so, can you move the PC closer to the laser to test?
If you are talking about the software locking up, the machine screen is clear. This happens if I run a job, most of mine are quick, and I work in another program or walk away for a few minutes. Once I go back to start working in Lightburn again it stops responding. As for the machine, the screen on the Thunder Nova is clear, not in any process. the cable is 8’ I think and is powered so it’s not a cable issue. This is a software issue, it’s locked you when I’m just using the software and it’s not connected to the machine.
This could be the PC is busy. I turned off One Drive and it made a big difference.
