Lightburn loosing connection. Is there a ping-pong mode?

Let me preface by saying I have already read the other posts about this topic and tried a few things.

So I have had this problem in both Lightburn and Repetier Host where things will be going smoothly, then randomly, at any time, I will lose connection and the board will lock up.

I have solved this problem in Repeier Host by turning on “Ping-pong mode”. It basically stops sending parallel lines and instead only sends one and asks for ok.

Is there a setting like that in Lightburn under a different name?

Are you talking about DTR?

Dont know what DTR is.

Edit: Never mind. I am not talking about Data Terminal Ready. I am talking about filling the buffer or not.

That is what DTR is for. It is full communications handshaking with the controller. It switches you from software control to hardware (more reliable) control.

Never heard it called “Ping-pong mode”, and I am an electronics guy.

Well I’ll give DTR a try then. I was just going by the terminology from Rep Host. They are German so maybe they just labeled it wrong.

Thanks for the help!

No, they labeled it how they see it. I think that is actually referring to the ACK command.

Keep us posted.

You could also change the transfer mode to Synchronous.

So just a follow-up. DTR did not solve the problem but it seems like synchronous has.

Will edit if it fails again.
