I’m trying to do material tests with my OneFinity CNC with LaserTree K60 laser. In my normal project material settings, i’m able to specify 0.1% power for layers. But in the LaserTools > Material Test, i’m unable to configure a grid with “power” value starting under 1%. I’m aware in the past maybe that wasn’t possible with 8 bit pwm, but my machine supports it. Perhaps the material test could be updated to allow it?
Otherwise, i may have to explore changing my controller and lightburn s-max from 1,000 to 10,000 as a workaround.
I got here after realizing I couldn’t move fast enough with low enough power to get effective material tests without burning every square.
Do your grid here: https://www.lasergridmaster.com/ ( set your max power to 100% for consistent results) ( the speed is in mm/s)
Open the grid in Lightburn select all the 1% power shapes and adjust Power Scale and change the labels.
very helpful, thanks! photo of various tests for fun. in the later tests on the right, the boxes around each power are “line” mode, the shaded box and text are “fill”
