I recently purchased a Ruida 80w. Installed LightBurn without any issues. LightBurn located my laser immediately and was up and running. A few days later LightBurn was disconnected from my laser. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling LightBurn, also manually, and bought new cables. Still nothing. Any help would be great.
Ditch the USB connection and use Ethernet:
It’ll eliminate a whole bunch of heartache & confusion.
The only complication involves keeping the Ruida’s static IP address out of your router’s DHCP range:
This troubleshooting step rarely solves any problems.
-
What is the IP of your PC/Laptop?
-
What is the IP of your Laser (Ruida Controller)?
-
Is the IP of your PC/Laptop being issued by DHCP? IOW: Could the IP of your PC/Laptop have changed (DHCP lease expired) from its original IP (when things were working)?
-
Can you PING the Ruida from your PC/Laptop?
- If you can PING the Controller while its plugged into the network: that’s good
- If you can PING the Controller when its NOT plugged into the network: its likely another host has been given the same IP address by your DHCP server/router. (You need to make sure you set a DHCP reservation for the controller so it doesn’t get issued to another host - or - use a fixed address not within your DHCP pool)
I figured out the issue. Had a bad usb port on the laser. Bypast the port and went direct to the controller. All good and running. Thanks for all you support.
