I’m experiencing a strange issue with LightBurn. I purchased the software a few months ago, and it was working perfectly on my old computer. Recently, I bought a new computer and installed LightBurn on it.
The software detects my machine and shows the status as “Ready.” However, when I click on “Frame” or “Start,” the program gets stuck, and the machine doesn’t respond at all. I’ve tried reinstalling LightBurn multiple times, but the problem persists.
I tested installing LightBurn on a friend’s computer, and the program and the machine worked flawlessly there, which suggests the issue isn’t related to the installation process or the machine itself.
The problem seems specific to my new computer. It is a strong system and I can’t return it. Everything else besides this program is working normally. I also tried using different USB ports, but that didn’t solve the issue either.
Do you have any suggestions or ideas about what might be causing this problem? I’d appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Thank you for your help. I tried running as administrator , and installed the latest c++ libraries (version 14.42.34433.0) but the problem still exists.
Another thing I didn’t mention in the main post, sometimes the status jumps from “Ready” to “Framing” to “Disconnected” and so on, and the software crashes.
This sounds like a connectivity issue.
If you are using any USB hubs, try taking them out of line and connect to a USB port directly on your computer instead.
The Windows power management settings might be putting your USB port to sleep. Please follow the instructions on this page to avoid this:
