Hey everyone sorry if this has been solved but i couldnt find it.
Setup and started using the laser just fine, made multiple test cuts, laser performed as expected. All of a sudden it seemed crippled and no matter what power setting i sent it had the same result. I pulsed with the contoller at different powers and had no issue, full power capabilities. I remember a setting change in lightburn for diode that fixed the issue but cant remember or find. New to CO2 world.
I know of no way to change the percentage out range… You can set that in a diode, but not directly with a Ruida.
My only suggestion is to measure the output of your controllers pwm (L-PWM1) at a few power levels… You don’t need the tube to lase and I’d recommend you don’t power up the lps. Set the percent power value on the machine console and measure the pwm output of the controller when you hold it down for a continuous pulse.
Through the machines console you can set continuous or pulse durationZ/U → Manual Set
Ok ill check those readings…its super weird it literally happened while i was changing out the wood for a new piece, no alert alarm or nothing. It did have a hard time finding the machine again. Have you heard of USB issues and running from ethernet instead to fix issues?
USB isn’t really a good method, it’s bit by bit… at least with a network connection it goes in packets and there is no special drivers required that aren’t required for normal tcp/ip communications.
The Ruida is great at driving the machine, but it’s rather dumb in other areas such as communications. I gave up on usb quickly. You can direct connect to your computer but you have to know a bit about networking that is beyond most users. The Ruida speaks in UDP, so keep that in mind.
The most simple way is to plug it into your lan and set it to an unused address on your network.
The only conflict could be that the router, during a reboot or refresh the router could assign a different value to the Ruida… Since a Ruida uses a static ip, and most routers have a way to bind an ip address to the Ruida mac address, which eliminates the problem.
This is the network map on my Linksys router, click on the device and select DHCP reservations.
Fairly versed in networking…also im just learning that i should’ve installed via the usb/serial option i chose packet. Going to reinstall the laser via the serial option and see what happens
Are you not connected to the internet? If it’s on your lan, you should be able to access it via Ethernet… mine is and it’s through my router and over my wifi.
Hate to see you buy more hardware, such as cables.
Its a long run in the attic to get to my router and or mounted switch … texas in July is daunting up there haha
…btw i did the “prefs” delete and it got me back up and running in the mean time. Super odd this happened
