Lightburn not showing in Privacy Camera settings in MacOS 15.1.1

Hi

I’m trying to set up Lightburn 1.7.0.4 to work with my every day use USB camera (Logitech 920) with my MBP M3 Pro running MacOS 15.1.1. This camera works with several other apps a couple hours a day without any issues, interruptions or malfunctions.
I have seen a number of posts pointing at Privacy & Security > Camera to provide permissions to LightBurn to access the camera. My issue is that Lightburn is not even listed there, just like if it was not even requesting permissions from the OS to access the camera at all.

I would like to insist on the fact that this usb camera works at least 2 hours a day in a couple different applications, flawlessly.

I would appreciate any hint on how to make LightBurn appear in that permissions list so I can grant it access to the camera.

If it does make any difference, I don’t have the laser machine yet with me, so Lightburn is using a dummy device and has never used physical USB at all, perhaps this is an untested corner case.

Thanks

Have you tried selecting a camera from the dropdown? I believe that’s when the OS asks for permission initially. You may need to enable the fade and show switches.

Hi. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the drop down does not even expand as it has no content. I also cannot toggle Fade or Show, they seem to be enabled only when a camera is selected in the drop-down above.

I don’t use a camera, but have not had that issue. I can pull up any of the cameras on my system in Lightburn, which I have done occasionally.

I’m on MacOS 15.2 but didn’t have any issues that I’m aware of when I was on 14 either. Maybe the new 1.7.06 will change it for you. It’s available now. Maybe update Sequoia to 15.2? Maybe it just doesn’t work without a laser installed???

I have managed to get the permissions prompt by booting macos in safe mode and then the drop down was populated. When selecting the usb camera, the permissions prompt appeared.

Just leaving this here as a reference should anybody fall into this.
