LightBurn Pro 2.0.02 on Ruida 6332G uploads jobs but shows no preview when the machine is selected

Hi,

New to lightburn but long time user of the infamous RDCAM LASERWORK 6.33.44, So I am familiar with most of the user interface.

Using both lightburn 1.7 and 2.0.02 (trial version for now)

laser: Ruida 6332G, Which was automatically detected by lightburn Pro 2.0.02
i use Ruida DSP, Packet/USB

I cannot get a preview for my Ruida Machine but only for the default “no machine”. The previous screen is empty.

I tested this on a pc connected to the laser and also stand alone computer.

It turns out that I can upload a cutting file to my laser so compatibility with my controller should not be an issue. I haven’t though cut this file yet though.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

greetings, Jurgen

The Preview window in LightBurn is always generated on the computer (assuming you’re asking about the LightBurn preview and not the preview on your controller) — it doesn’t depend on the controller type. If the preview is blank when your Ruida device is selected, that usually means either:

  • The project has no layer set to output (check the Cuts / Layers window for Output toggle switch), or
  • The job area is outside the defined workspace (check Edit → Device Settings → Work Area and confirm it matches your machine size).

Try selecting Window → Reset to Default Layout and then run Preview again. If it still comes up blank, can you share some screenshot? (no phone pics please)

Hi,

Thanks for the fast reply!

Your second tip did the trick. I played around with the work area origin and got some previews

Thanks again!
Jurgen
