Lightburn settings Vs Glowforge

How to convert new Glowforge setting to lightburn settings.

Good question. What is this “new Glowforge setting”? Please share a bit more descriptive wording to help us better understand what you are asking. In LightBurn, the word “setting” could mean many things. Settings for communication between the computer and laser. Settings could also be related to where the laser thinks it origin is. Settings could also be specific to the power and speed used for a particular job you are intending to produce.

More information as to what you mean when saying “settings” will help a lot.

Wondering what would be comparable to this setting. using a omtech 55watt.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer a direct conversion for you. There is information that is not available as shown. Example, I do not see units for the speed number. 1000 what, mm/s, inches/min? It is not clear. Power set to 90% of what overall wattage? Even if these additional bits were known, I am not confident they will provide much value in terms of the output for your OMTech. Each laser has it’s own ‘unique’ characteristics, which are best understood through testing.

LightBurn provides tools to assist you in dialing in Cut Settings, known as the ‘Material Test Generator’. You can use this to identify the best settings for your laser and material combination.

Once you find a setting for a particular type of job / material combination you like, save it to a ‘Material Library’ for later recall.
