I’m a huge Lightburn enthousiast. Never came across better thought trough software. That being said, since my new MacBook Air Lightburn has been unresponsive and slow.
During startup and usage a lot of beach balls occur. The overal responsiveness is pretty slow and opening files takes a lot of time.
Not sure if this is caused by the M2 processor, but I thinks it should be able to perform at least as smooth as on my 2011 iMac.
My new Mac is a M2 MacBook Air with 1TB SSD and 24GB of memory running the latest macOS update (13.2.1).
If you need anything to solve this issue (like log files) let me know. Happy to help.
Is it just on startup that you’re having issues, or is it every action? It it only when opening files?
We don’t currently have a native ARM build but it’s certainly on our radar. Right now LightBurn runs with Rosetta instead. New versions of Rosetta (M2) may notice there being some initial slowness as Rosetta processes the code (and learns from it, essentially) but it should speed up after the first minute or two.
Hi @Colin, it’s mainly at startup indeed. It gets better over time. Good to know it is probably caused by Rosetta. Looking forward to the ARM build Let me know if you need someone to test any ARM Beta’s.
