Lightburn test cards

Once the card has been created in lightburn how can we find the file??? I saved the card to my desktop and its a .lbmt file and I can’t open it. Can someone tell this idiot, myself, what I’m not seeing??? I am able to run the project from the laser tools section but don’t see a file???

Second question

I have this engave test file but everything is set to max 100% and I don’t see a place to set minimum power. Can someone help?

Also, I have added a screenshot

Yep,

Check these settings

Select one of the squares (any one), then click Shape Properties. There you should see a power setting that matches the column header. So for example, select one from the middle, go to Shape Properties and it should say 50%.

All the shapes in a column should be at the same power setting.
All the shapes in a row should be the same speed.

Make sense?

I understand that but how can I get the file into lighrtburn? Sounds stupid I know?

How do i get the card file I created??? Where is it?? I saved it to my desktop but lightburn wont allowq it to open. I added screenshot. Once its created from laser tools then what???

Can you show us how you saved it?

Typically you can save the settings within the Material Test then recall them again, in the Material Test. I have many saved that way.

Here’s what I mean…

I save the presets by clicking on the disk icon

Give it a name

Next one

Give a different name

Now I can click on the drop-down menu…

And see the saved presets

I use a Mac. Windows machines may look slightly different.

I can save and run the test from inside lightburn. But how do I get the file to share? When I save it light burn cant recognize it to open it afterwards. I use a mac too

As I understand it you can only open the file from within the material test generator using the ‘import preset’ button

Here’s the test
Wheres the File?

Ok that was correct… you havd to import the file ijnto lightburn. GHowever, how do I share this file??? Can it be made into svg???

Perhaps I’m not understanding.
You can export your test file within the generator and save it to where you want and the import it back from within the generator.

Thats correct… So this file can only be used in lightburn??? Correct???

That’s what I believe

I must say this is the best forum onllne. bMost other forums you have to wait until the nexg day to get answer. You guys are great

So to get my settings dialed in correct I need to do separate test for each kinds of wood, leather, acrylic, and so on. Is that correct??

I cant be alone not understanding how this worked… Hope others see and learn

Yes, I have not found a shorter way, I have produced loads of them for each material and each laser !
It takes time but is worth it in the long run.

Good luck

Another question??? I cant get the laser to do a cut test. I have changed the settings to line with the appropriate settings but it keeps engraving. And that’s dangerous to start a fire sitting that slow at that high power setting for cut. any ideas

Do you mean on the Material Test?

yes, how do I do a cut test?
