Lightburn to label my inventory

Hello everyone.

Is it possible to use Lightburn to label my inventory (notebooks, mobile phones, etc.) in an incrementing manner?

So that after lasering the device, I just put the next one underneath and the barcode and inventory number count up automatically?

Thanks in advance.
Daniel

Yes, LightBurn provides an option to provide ‘Variable Text’ allowing you to identify the text to change as you produce new items. You can read more about this feature and all the different options here:

For producing Serial Numbering:

LightBurn does not currently provide Barcode generation, but we do provide the ability to generate a QR Code for labeling. The ‘QR Code’ generator includes the ability to add ‘Variable Text’ as part of the QR Code, creating an integrated labeling system to produce as you describe.

QR Code Production is covered here:

Can you confirm that QR Codes work with Serial numbers? I was under the impression that they only worked with Merge/CSV.

Yes @berainlb, you are correct. I could have been a bit clearer in my description. The QR Code generator leverages the Merge/CSV File Variable Text feature. In this case, one would build a list of serial numbers to be used when the QR Codes are generated.

Thank you for helping to clarify.
