Lightburn will not connect to ATOMSTACK P7

Greetings

I am the proud owner of your P7 Laser Engraver, it arrived last week very quickly. I built it easily with excellent instructions, an impressive machine well engineered.

My issue is my laptop software does not recognise or connect to it.

  1. The laser cutter turns on all lights illuminated while the cooling fan runs. I have checked the cable connection several times all appears well.
  2. I have downloaded a trial copy of LIGHTBURN, and installed it
  3. My laptop is running LINUX MINT. It is a Lenovo G50 with 16Gb RAM and 1Tb storage
  4. All software updates have been installed
  5. The P7 is connected by the provided USB cable.
  6. Lightburn does not recognise or connect to the P7 laser engraver, I have tried adding it automatically and manually with no success .

Can you assist with advise or guidance on resolving this problem

Note that this is a LightBurn forum and that LightBurn and Atomstack are unrelated companies.

As for your connectivity issues.

Have you followed the installation instructions, specifically with regard to setting group permissions?

The other thing to confirm is that you have a serial USB device that’s being created. Check that in Terminal:

ls /dev/*USB*

If things are setup correctly you should get something like ttyUSB0.
