LightBurn will not recognize my Wizmaker

LightBurn will not recognize my Wizmaker.

Months ago I tried to contact LightBurn and received just replies from people on this forum.

Please read through this thoroughly. I do not want to waste anyone’s time if they do not understand the problem. I know it can be frustrating from both sides.

I own 2 different brand lasers. I have a LONGER Ray5 20watt, and a WIZMAKER L1 36Watt.

Both these machines work on any laser program I put them on, except for Lightburn.

Lightburn recognizes my LONGER, but not my WIZMAKER. LightBurn will run the LONGER, but it will not recognize my Wizmaker.

I have used multiple cords on each, and end up with the same problem. The cord is not the problem.

The Lightburn program recognizes that something is connected to my com ports when I turn the Wizmaker on. The port is not the problem.

I have had these hooked up to two different laptops and a PC, along with a brand new laptop I just purchased two weeks ago. The computer and proccessor is not the issue.

I have followed about months worth of “try this” and “have you done this” replies that do not even relate to my issue.

So, I am just asking if anyone out there knows what this issue could be?

I do not mind emails and I may give you my phone number if that makes the communication easier for you.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone else know the solution?
Please help me.

The bots get a hold of your email address, it would be regrettable, so I redacted it for you. You can click on a username and have the option of sending them a private message.

It’s odd you didn’t hear from Lightburn, they are generally very responsive. Did you send an email to support or just post here?

I’m not familure with your pair of machines, I have a few grbl devices that use USB.

Maybe @Gila can be of assistance and get you some assistance a bit quicker.

Hang in there.

Hey there Joshua and/or Richard? (that was the name on the support ticket I found) @gilaraujo was helping you troubleshoot your Wizmaker this past February. Our last suggestion was to ground the frame or try moving the machine (temporarily) to a different location. He also advised, “Being a 36W output diode though, make sure your power adapter is up to spec.. should be at least 8amp output.”

If your Wizmaker machine works with LaserGRBL then it should work with LightBurn.

What’s not clear to me yet is if you’ve tried creating your device profile manually?

Your laser manufacturer states that their machine is compatible with our software in their product description, have you reached out to them for their input?

Did you search the Forum to see if anyone else had your machine? I found @slvrbullit has one, although his issue was different. Maybe he knows something specific about the machine setup that will help.

If his WIZMAKER is working and your LONGER is too, it is unlikely it is a Lightburn issue.

Good luck getting a response from Wizmaker, I’ve been emailing support at their listed address and have gotten ZERO response from them. I was having a different issue and was asking about a replacement lens.

I have no issues other than Lightburn does not recognize my Wizmaker. It recognizes a connection was made. And no matter what I do to manually set it up it still acts like there is nothing there. It did this to my Longer Ray5 as well, since the last update. I have tried multiple versions of LightBurn just to see if I could find one that recognizes it. Since the last update, my Longer Ray5 now is recognized by LightBurn, yet it still does not recognize my Wizmaker.

Does your Wizmaker work with LaserGRBL?
