Hi, so I am trying to make a little something for someones birthday and I want to kind of merge some Text (in my case “50”) with half a tree of life.
I am assuming Lightburn won’t let me use boolean functions, because the forms are not closed. Is there a trick how I can merge the numbers with the rest?
I attached a Screenshot how it currently looks. I want the 50 to be included in the tree so once I laser it, the 50 is sticking to the material.
LB only will allow Boolean operations on two objects at a time.
First, switch your layer to fill, open shapes will not fill. Deal with any opens shapes.
Turn the 50 from text to path. Note, it will not be text editable afterwards.
Grab the tree and the 0, weld them together.
Grab the 5 and the tree, weld them together.
Once you grasp the logic, it will be easy to achieve. You are half way there already, and you posted a screenshot for us to see what you are working with. You will get it!
For a quick job on such a simple file use the scissors tool and snip away the parts you don’t need. You will need to convert the text to a path first, in order for the snip tool to work. The lines will join automatically.
I did a screen grab of your image and tried to do a Trace on it. There are gaps in the lines all over the place. Until you fix that, Scissors and Boolean should not be considered.
To see if it is ready, switch from Line to Fill mode. If the tree gets filled, you are ready to include the “50”.
