I take a jpeg of a clock i do a trace image and make my changes and cut layers. every thing looks good but when i try to save the file it says cant save file? i have had this happen often.
i have tried it with save, save as and export svg and it wont save. i know its probably something stupid and easy that im missing.

Where are you trying to save? Some computers have the C:\ drive and a couple other places set up to protect them. Can you show a screen shot of the error you’re getting?

when i try to save at says lightburn was unable to create c/program files/lightburn/barbersalon.lbrn. this is just with some files that im working on. most all of my files save ok in the same directory . this just happens some of the time.

You shouldn’t really be saving your data files in to the program files directory - this is normally reserved for applications and you need admin rights to save in that directory.Windows should warn you of this. Create a directory somewhre else in an area (like in MyDocuments) where users are allowed full unrestricted access
That’s exactly why - The program files location is protected to prevent you from corrupting your software. Save in your Documents folder or somewhere else.
