Limit switches on Sculpfun S9 not working correctly

Hi, I’m completely new in the world of laser engraving.
I received my SCULPFUN S9 laser and equipped it with limit switches.
They both seem to work because when I activate them by hand, they generate an “Alarm1: Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost due to sudden and immediate halt. Re-homing is highly recommended.”
When I power one the machine, it goes to home position but the motors continue to force against the limit switches and generate a noisy vibration.
It stops after a while and the console reports :" ALARM:9 Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phases.

Any idea?

@DrMortimer Check the homing pull-off distance first — this is the most common cause.

In the Console, type $27 and press Enter.
If it’s very small or 0, set it to around 2mm or even 5 mm, power-cycle the machine, then try homing again.

You can also learn more about Alarm 9: here:

Also verify you wired the switches as N.O. (normally open).

In the Console, enter ?
Now push the laser onto the switches.
Enter ? again

Copy the two lines, including the “?”, that start with <Idle | MPos: and paste it in a Reply.

HI Mikey, thank you for your reply. This is what the console feeds back:
?
<Idle|WPos:33.000,33.000,0.000|FS:0,0|Pn:Y>

Hi dominic,
I’ve tried to change the value to 5 but that doesn’t solve my problem.
My switches are correctly wired and work as NO.

But I finally found the issue.
My switches were incorrectly wired on the MB. I swapped X and Y and now this works fine !
