Line Interval and Lines per Inch, Omtech 80w

HI everyone, I’m new here. So, to fully explain my situation, I had Lightburn installed on my desktop. Hard drive failed so I installed Lightburn on my laptop to get some tumblers engraved.

I was able to engrave a tumbler, but it wasn’t as crisp as I had done before. I took notice that my settings were off.

Previously, I had .047 for line interval and 540.43 for lines per inch. Now, I can set the .047, but my lpi automatically goes to 21.28. That’s way off from before!

The tumbler I did run, I went off my LPI, but it just wasn’t like before.

Can anyone help me out? I haven’t found anything when searching.

Thanks in advance!

The interval is another way of specifying the dpi/lpi… You could enter the 540.43 into the lines per inch field and Lightburn would populate the interval field…

1mm/0.047mm = 21.278

21.278 * 25.4mm/inch = 540.4255 for dpi/lpi…

Have no idea why it would display 21.28… mine shows correctly as the 540.43 value in the lines per inch field…

Can you do a screenshot?

Capture

Enter the 540.43 in the lines/inch field…

The problem is you are entering the interval in inches, not mm.

1÷.05 = 20.00 lines per inch, all of it in inches.

Somewhere you are set to inches… maybe here…

Notice mines in mm and shows the expected values…

Good luck

That’s what it was! Thanks a lot, now to test again on a tumbler to make sure it’s correct and I don’t have any other issues.

Tumbler ran perfectly! Thanks again!

Did you enter the interval or just the lines per inch?

I guess I now know why it would display 21.28 :+1:

Glad you’re up and having fun again…

I entered the interval and the LPI popped up exactly from my previous notes.
