Hi everyone,
I’m using LightBurn with a fiber / JCZ galvo machine and had a question (or feature request) around Live Framing behavior.
Current workflow:
- Press F1 to start Live Framing (red dot outline).
- Start engraving.
- Job finishes successfully.
- Live Framing remains active and the red dot continues running until I manually press ESC.
What I’m trying to achieve:
- When the engraving job finishes, I’d like Live Framing to automatically stop / close, so the red dot turns off and the machine returns to an idle/ready state.
I’ve checked:
- Device Settings
- Galvo / IO settings
- Live Framing window options
- LightBurn documentation
I couldn’t find any setting or documented behavior that links job completion to stopping Live Framing.
Questions:
- Is there currently any way to auto-stop Live Framing when a job completes?
- If not, would this be possible as a feature request?
For example:
- “Stop Live Framing on job completion”
- or “Auto-disable framing when marking ends”
This would be really helpful in production environments to avoid the red light on the laser staying on after jobs finish.
Thanks in advance ![]()
