Is there a way to load machine settings file, when I’m not connected to the controller? I do a lot of troubleshooting with our customers, and frequently I’m doing it from home where I have Lightburn installed but don’t have actual laser. When LB is not connected those buttons (Load from File/Save to File) are Greyed out
I believe you only have 2 ways, ask the customer to provide screenshots of the settings or to provide a copy of the settings file. But I think screenshots is more friendly.
I asked about this a few years ago when I ran into the same issue.
It seem the software work flows in a way making it impossible to do this.
@parsec is correct on this point, you will have to remote into their machine or read screen shots.
If you’re good at XML, I believe this is the file format for these and I think you can look at them with a regular editor.
I have Emacs and it has an extension to view XML type files and manipulate them, which I wouldn’t suggest.
Thanks guys! I was afraid it’s not possible Yeah getting screenshot from Customer is not a solution for me, I need to open my settings files… I’m just gonna bring old busted Ruida controller and power it on and connect to network or USB. I have one that I damaged accidently, one axis no longer works, but otherwise it will do…
I did look at raw XML file with settings, it’s a bit hard to read lol
Glad you have a unit, I’m assuming you’ll set it up on Ethernet?
Good luck
