Long wave line on y axis

Hi,

I have a K40 and found that a straight line on y actually has a wobble on it. Not like gantry or acceleration but up and down over about 2cm repeating.
Does anyone know what this is? Could my belt be broken or twisted?
I’ve tightened it and loosened the belt but no difference to the wave.
My alignment is 99% on but if it were out then the line would drift in one direction not up and down.

Straight line on x axis is fine.

I wonder that this change over 2cm could be the circumference of the motor sprocket but I cleaned that as best I could. I couldn’t access the far sprocket to clean it.

Any help is appreciated.

I think it’s a known thing on a K40 and the fix is a linear guide rail.
The larger machines have them and there are kits for the K40 if I chose.
