I bought a brand new longer ray 10w laser, but after 2 tests the laserbeam is gone. It runs the patern, but doesn’t engrave or cut anymore, eventhough the blue light is visible and the power is at 100%. So,i contacted the factory and they’ve sended me a new one…but again, after 2 tests it happend again. Is it the laserboard or the main motherboard that’s malefunctioning?? I’m stuck now,and don’t know what to do anymore.
This would indicate a procedure problem. What tests succeeded? What tests failed? You have to be our eyes and ears.
Hi Mikey, the only thing i can say is,i was just testing a simple figure, like a round circle. The first time it did its job,(cutting and engraving),the second time it started the patern, but this time without no laserbeam, meaning no cutting or engraving. The settings were the same as the first time. The lens was also clean,so i don’t understand what happend. When they’ve sended me a new laser,(only the laser itself i mean, not the whole machine ),it did exactly the same thing. What puzzles me,is that the blue light is working. So why is the laserbeam gone?
Could be the power supply.
That blue light is the laser at very low power. That indicates the laser head is working. Now you have a spare?
Power supply can handle the load when cold, but as it warms, it goes into current limiting. The laser is a pretty heavy load when it is running. Search for one with same voltage and a current or wattage that exceeds your present one by 25% to 50%. It does not have to be the same brand.
