My new Longer Ray5 20w will not burn but in a specific area. it will work in one small area and does not recognize the entire workspace. not sure what to do. i have limit switches installed and it will not home without crashing. any ideas out there would be great!!!
Does it crash where the limit switches are located?
Does the controller know limit switches are installed (parameter $22=1)?

It typically crashes into the front rail. if laser is in upper left quadrant then it returns to the limit switch fine. i have never told it there are limit switches since they work great (sometimes)
This is because there are only two. Software and controller parameters are what keeps it off the rails where there are no switches.
What is the advertized workarea of your laser?
What is the set size of the Lightburn workarea?

- What is your workspace setting in Lightburn?
- What is the actual inside dimensions of the laser frame?
- Can you Jog into those areas the machine will “not burn but in a specific area”. In other words, can you Jog the full area of the machine?

Both of you say you have 800x800 machines, but neither shows this in the GRBL parameters.
If there is an .lbset file that includes the extension, use that. Othewrwise add 400 to each of these parameters and enter one at a time in the Console window. Not all controllers allow you to update the parameters.

The difference in the original values may be to compensate for the size of the laser module.
