Longer ray5 10W engraving problem

Hi @MikeyH, so you’re saying that for this machine this is already a good result? I’m just asking because I’ve seen people doing very complex jobs with great results, maybe I’m being too optimistic for a Chinese machine.

I’ll try playing around with the engraving settings to see if I can get better results, maybe with more power for a deeper engraving.

With the anodized card, are you suggesting doing a line test?

One of those great detail people uses a 5w module that costs $800, just the module alone. Those “great” ones occur after many hours of experimenting to get just one image. You also do not see them close up like your images. Yes, keep trying to improve your work and machine for sure. Just be aware physics will determine the detail you can obtain. Most of those great images were done on a Chinese machine.

Do that burn accuracy test on an anodized card. Just be aware it will show errors you may not know where they came from. My S30 machine has a Zaxis mechanical adjuster that wobbled with this test. Was not showing up in regular work.

Thanks a lot for the help, guys. I really appreciate it. I will keep improving my machine and my laser skills. I will definitely do an anodized card test. I really like to have my machines optimized as much as possible, it’s like an obsession .

Again, thank you all for the help.

Sorry, My help was miserable because my day work occupies all my available time lately.

I know a guy who likes to have his machines “optimized as much as possible”. :innocent:That guy tell’s you: " Prepare yourself to never achieve perfection if you not ready to deal with disappointment"
Sometimes we buy a Fiat and want they preform like a Ferrari. They belong to the same group but they are not the same.
That same guy concluded that to achieve perfection many times you have to pay for it.

Go for it! Improve it as much as you can!
