I am using a Longer ray 5 20 watt with a Longer rotary attachment. I set up the Y-axis step to 56 from 80, set the axis rotation with tape and marks. set the roll diameter. set the cup diameter. and I still get the lines not lining up.
When I run the same project on a flat surface everything is good. I tried changing the settings but nothing seems to affect it in a good. Is there a compatibility conflict or could there be? or is there some super secret squirrel setting I missed?
so they are not in order, but i changed one setting each time before i ran it again. the end result is always the same. i even tried it once with the rotary off and the only difference is it was backwards.
In the same spot 17 different times. Not sarcastic the reason those cups are different colors is because i would try, paint the cup and try again. I ruined 7 cups trying this and then decided to try and paint them.
You should not need to change the “Machine Settings” Y Steps per MM ($101 firmware setting).
The roller’s motion gets adjusted with the “MM Per Rotation” value in the Rotary Setup.
I suggest reverting $101 to the default. If I’m not mistaken, It should be the same as $100=80 for the X axis, but double check this by engraving a flat rectangle at a known size and measure the outcome.
You can change this value in Machine Settings, or by entering this command in the console: $101=80
Then adjust the “mm per rotation” in the Rotary Setup. According to this Longer doc page, 56.52 is the sweet spot.
