Looking to buy a UV laser

Looking to buy a UV laser not knowing very much about them. Looking to find a good one in the 3-4000 price range, dont know what a good wattage would be. Looking to do the 3d cystal engraving in the cube mostly but would like to use it for other things as well. I have a 100 watt co2 at the present. Would like it to have good support as well

I’ve been way down the UV rabbithole lately, so happy to help on this.

3-4k puts you firmly in the 5W hobbyist range. This will be an air cooled 355nm nanosecond laser with a galvo scanning head, and around a 1.3-1.4 beam quality.

The best package I’ve seen for it is here Omni X UV Laser Engravers - Best Laser Engraving Machine – ComMarker as it has the enclosure and the software seems ok, but they are likely all the same cheap laser source and galvo head.

Bear in mind some of their specifications don’t stand up to scrutiny, but for the majority of users this won’t matter whatsoever. This will be the same for any UV laser you can buy in this class.

I have a 5w UV laser from cloudray. I don’t have a motorized z axis so mine will not do the crystals like you mentioned but they have one available.

Also everything you know about speed and power doesn’t apply to UV. Speed, Frequency, and Q-Pulse are the only variables. It’s been a learning curve.
