I’m working on putting together some materials to sell in Florida. I have the pieces cut, and all other materials ready to put in the box. Just for testing, and to send to my client, I’d like to just cut lets say 8" w x 6" deep x 2" tall box out of corrugated cardboard sheets that I have on hand collecting dust.
I know there are box generators out there, but none that I can locate that will make the top of the box in a fashion where I can just slip it down over the bottom.
Something like this or there abouts. It can be a one piece box or two. A top that slides down over the bottom. If there is positive feedback, then I’ll look into ordering in bulk.
Thanks for the link. Didn’t quite work out for me though.
I did manage to put together something for the client to look at when she gets it.
It’s not the same box that I’ll be using, but she get the drift of the idea.
Here are 2 B Flute versions. B Flute in the USA is the most common. It is about 1/8" thick. C Flute is more like 3/16" thick. One design has the 1/2" cut x 1/2" space built in. 8_x_6_x_2_Bflute.lbrn (63.3 KB)
Let me know if you are using thicker corrugated and I can revise the design.
I hate that I’ve waisted your time on this. Starting out, I’m going to go with this. It has the clear window so the customer can see the parts and paints. I cut out an 8 x 8 inch square and and laid the pieces down on it. Height wise it won’t be a problem either.
Who knows. No one may be interested in them, and this will be all for naught. But one never knows until you knock on the door.
Thanks John. I should have thought this out a bit more before posting the thread. I want to keep my total unit cost down. I plan on sourcing the paints and small plastic bottles for the Elmer’s School Glue from China if it makes economic sense.
I have the label design done. I’ll be printing those at my wife’s office on a color printer, along with the instruction sheet. The box will be packed with shredded cardboard pieces as well.
Time will tell if this is something there is interest in. I have access to flat flexible magnets as well that I’ll be including in the package.
This is all kind of new to me. Putting together materials like this that is.
Correct Ralph. They’ll be packed in a outer box, packed with foam. Maybe 5 or so starting out to see if it sells. Then I have to find a source for 3mm bass wood sheets that can be cut down. That’s what this stuff is.
I work as a IT guy for a small company. I have access to the boxes, the shredded carboard filler, etc…
